Japan-based Bitcoin treasury company Metaplanet has made a new investment, continuing its bullish outlook for the world's largest cryptocurrency. Metaplanet Purchases $15 Million in New Bitcoin: Total Reserves Reach 20,136 BTC The company announced that it purchased 136 Bitcoins (BTC) for approximately $15.2 million. Metaplanet CEO Simon Gerovich stated in his statement on X that the purchase in question was made at an average price of $111,666. With this latest transaction, the company's total Bitcoin holdings reached 20,136 BTC. The company's total investment to create this reserve was approximately $2.08 billion, with an average cost of $103,196. According to BitcoinTreasuries data, Metaplanet ranks sixth among publicly traded companies holding the most Bitcoin. Michael Saylor's Strategy topped the list, boasting a massive reserve of 636,505 BTC. In financial markets, Metaplanet shares saw a slight decline. According to Yahoo Finance data, the company's shares, which trade on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, were down 1.2% as of midday on Monday. After losing 30% in the past month, the shares are still up 101% since the beginning of the year. Meanwhile, Bitcoin's price rose 0.5% in the last 24 hours to $111,146.
