Crypto.com has rolled out a new feature on its app called Whale Baskets, allowing retail investors to replicate the stock strategies of some of the world’s most well-known investors — including Warren Buffett, Nancy Pelosi, Dan Meuser, and Bill Ackman — without paying subscription fees. The feature, now available under the Stocks section of the app, enables users to purchase a bundle of assets that mirrors the publicly disclosed holdings of these high-profile investors. When the underlying investor makes a change to their portfolio, users receive a notification and can adjust their own basket with a single tap. The platform currently includes more than ten high-profile investors, referred to as “whales,” whose stock holdings are tracked and bundled into investment baskets. Users can tweak the allocation or composition of assets within a basket to suit their own investment goals. However, any manual change converts the basket into a custom version that won’t update automatically with the whale’s future trades. Investors can start with as little as $50, and funding can be done either in USD or via cryptocurrency. To use the feature, users can tap on Whale Baskets from the main menu of the Crypto.com App, browse through available investor baskets, and select one to invest in. After choosing a basket and investment amount, users can choose to stick with the original allocation or modify it. Once the purchase is completed, they’ll receive real-time notifications as the whale’s publicly available portfolio changes. With Whale Baskets, Crypto.com is aiming to simplify stock investing by letting users follow the lead of seasoned market players — no deep research is required.
