Tether Adds 8,888 Bitcoin to Treasury, Expands Hard Asset Strategy

Tether added 8,888.889 BTC to its reserves on September 30, according to on-chain data. The transaction lifted the company’s main Bitcoin holdings to 86,335.46 BTC , strengthening its position as one of the largest institutional holders of the asset. Expanding Hard Assets The move is part of Tether’s broader push to back reserves with durable assets. Earlier this year, the company disclosed holdings of more than 100,000 BTC and 50 tons of gold. It also committed over 15,000 BTC to Bitcoin treasury firm XXI and holds a majority stake in Adecoagro, an agribusiness managing 210,000 hectares of farmland across Latin America. Broadening Products Beyond reserves, Tether recently introduced USAT , a U.S.-focused stablecoin built to comply with domestic regulations. The launch signals efforts to expand both its balance sheet and product reach.
